You can hire Peter to DJ your Tango event!
We believe that the music can make or break a milonga – both the music choice itself and the quality of the sound system, so we pay particular attention to this aspect of your enjoyment of Tango.
Even the most popular of Tangos from the Golden Age can start to sound monotonous to modern ears if played non stop all evening. So at our milongas you can expect a rich variety of the very best classic Tango, Milonga and Vals, interspersed from time to time with tried and tested modern Tango tracks. Add the occasional Jive, Salsa and Chacarera to complete the mix.
We use Tandas and Cortinas, sometimes to change the mood, adjusting the selection to what’s happening in the room. Where a more traditional approach is preferred we use the Tanda convention throughout the Milonga.
We aim to fill the Hall with sound which can be heard clearly everywhere without being uncomfortablly loud anywhere. For this, where space and layout permit, we use a four speaker system, one in each corner. This also provides us with a very adequate backup in the unlikely event that any component fails on the night.
Infinitely variable colour stage lighting completes the kit list for the creation of just the right atmosphere.
For the technically inclined, the kit we currently use includes:
PC music source with second laptop and CD backup
Digital and analogue outputs to Allen & Heath mixer
Front speakers - 2 x Mackie SRM450 active cabs
Secondary (rear) PA - Behringer PMH2000 powered mixer with 2 x Peavey passive cabs
Lighting system - 4 x NJD Spectre portable stage lights.
